    Graduated from the Department of Music of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Suen then received Betty L. Tsang Scholarship and Joseph Flummerfelt Scholarship to further her study at Westminster Choir College and obtained her Master of Music in Choral Conducting with distinction. She studied conducting and choral pedagogy with Dr Joe Miller, Dr James Jordan, voice with Ms Chan Siu-kwan, percussion with Ms Sophia Woo and piano with Mr Carson Wong. During her study at Westminster Choir College, she served as assistant conductor of Grammy-nominated conductor Dr James Jordan. Being member and section leader of Westminster Choir, Westminster Kantorei and Westminster Symphonic Choir, she had worked with world-renowned orchestras and conductors, including The New York Philharmonic conducted by Alan Gilbert, The Philadelphia Orchestra conducted by Yannick Nézet-Ségui, Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela conducted by Gustavo Dudamel, London Philharmonia, and conductor Daniel Barenboim.

    Suen began her passion for choral music since she was young. She joined The Hong Kong Children’s Choir at the age of 6. Since 13, she had been the school choir leader and student conductor. During her 12 years at HKCC, she toured with the choir to Austria, Germany, Hungary, Singapore, The United Kingdom for exchanges and international performances. In 2016, Suen took the position of the Artistic Coordinator of The Hong Kong Children’s Choir and is conductor of its Senior and Intermediate classes. She was appointed as chorus master of the film Find Your Voice and prepared choir for the “20th Anniversary of Hong Kong Return to the Motherland Grand Variety Show” held at the Hong Kong Convention Exhibition Center. In 2017, Suen toured to Australia with HKCC, performed in the “Festival of Voice” in Hobart, Tasmania and the fund-raising concert for CanRevive at City Recital Hall, Sydney. In the same year, she premiered numbers of new choral compositions at Hong Kong Composers’ Guild “Musicarama 2017”.

    As a devoted music and choral educator, Suen co-founded the local youth mixed voice choir “The Greeners’ Sound” and The Chinese University of Hong Kong Music Department vocal ensemble “Aqua Voice”, and was invited as a guest speaker at different choral and conducting workshops. Suen actively participated in master classes, her teachers include Mr John Rutter, Mr Simon Halsey, Dr James Whitbourn, Dr William Weinert, Mr Dénes Szabó, and more. She also conducted Hong Kong Sinfonietta under the guidance of Mr Helmuth Rilling.
