HKICF 2026 Guest Choir of the Year Concert ─ USC Thornton Chamber Singers

The Hong Kong Children's Choir (HKCC) was invited to perform on the afternoon of 25 May 2026 at the Auditorium of Tsuen Wan Town Hall for the "HKICF2026 Guest Choir of the Year Concert" hosted by the Hong Kong Inter-School Choral Festival (HKICF). Members from HKCC's Intermediate 3A choir performed alongside the USC Thornton Chamber Singers from the United States, who were visiting Hong Kong for the first time, and the local ensemble NOĒMA.

Under the baton of Kelvin Lau and accompanied by Kenneth Lau, HKCC members took the stage after the intermission. The choir performed a selection of choral works in various styles, including Steve Ho's Shopping Paradise, A New Day by Alex Tam and Jude B. Roldan's classic piece Cantate Domino.

The concert concluded with a Mass Singing. Under the leadership of conductor Cristian Grases, members of HKCC, the USC Thornton Chamber Singers, and NOĒMA gathered on stage to perform Warren Lee's XII, which cleverly mixed Chinese folk songs such as O Sea, My Hometown, Fengyang Flower Drum and Molihua with American songs such as Home on the Range and Simple Gifts. Supported by the piano accompaniment of Warren Lee and Yiyou Elaine Lin, alongside percussion by Choi Suk Fun, they completed the performance of the final piece together.

This performance provided valuable international stage experience for the members and demonstrated cross-cultural musical exchange through choral music.
