  • Led by The Hong Kong Children's Choir (HKCC) Music Director and Principal Conductor Ms Kathy Fok, HKCC Concert Choir travelled to Shenzhen Children's Palace on 19 May to perform in the 2nd "Shenzhen x Hong Kong x Macau Art & Culture Exchange Festival" Closing Ceremony. The Festival began on 31 March in Shenzhen and aims to provide a platform for young artists and musicians from Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macau to learn and exchange from each other. 21 youth groups from the 3 cities were invited to participate in the festival and presented 9 choral, symphonic, dance and drama performances in Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macau. HKCC was invited to perform in the Closing Ceremony as the representative of Hong Kong.

  • As the finale of the Festival, other renowned groups and artists from Shenzhen and Macau also performed in the ceremony, including the Art Troupe of Macau University of Science and Technology, Shenzhen young artists Mr Sun Chu and Ms Cai Hui-ping and Shenzhen Hongling Education Group Middle School Choir. HKCC was on stage after their performance and brought a delightful breeze to all audiences via their joyful first song Let Music Flow. Conducted by Ms Kathy Fok and accompanied by Ms Lin Ching, Concert Choir then presented 2 songs - Wind and Brave the Wind and the Waves.

  • After that, under the baton of Conductor Mr Dominic Lam, they performed a few more songs written by HKCC Composer in Residence Dr Steve Ho, such as Yo! and had the world premiere of the HKCC 50th Anniversary Theme Song I Just Want to Sing and Dr Ho's new work Kung Fu. Their dynamic performance won the hearts of the audiences.

  • The ceremony brought to a climax when Ms Kathy Fok led the Festival Artistic Director Ms Xu Xia, representatives of the 3 cities (including HKCC member Chu Cheuk-ying), Shenzhen Hongling Education Group Middle School Choir and Concert Choir sang out the song I Love You China together. The 1-month long festival is then ended in a burst of applause.
