Date: 27/07/2022

  • The Hong Kong Children's Choir (HKCC) was invited by the Hong Kong Federation of Literary and Art Circles to perform in its first large-scale stage production Bells Resounding. With the theme of "Home", the show is directed by Mr Fredric Mao, who was assisted by the production's executive director Ms May Fu, music director Mr Leon Ko and choreographers Mr Yang Yuntao and Ms Angela Hang. Featuring choral, dance, Chinese opera and drama performances, the production showcased the indomitable spirit and solidarity of Hong Kong people as well as the city's unique cultural diversity in celebrating the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland.

The evening show was held at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Grand Theatre on 27 July. The first unit to come on stage, selected members from HKCC Intermediate 3A and Concert Choir performed the songs Love Hug and When We Were Young in the form of a musical in the opening section "Morning Bells". For the finale "The Road Home", HKCC members returned to the stage and were joined by various guest performers, including Wong Cho-lam, Alan Tam, Lisa Wang, Raymond Wong and Hong Kong Dance Company performers, in performing the final song New Journey, which exhorted the audience to work hand in hand with each other in building a better future with perseverance and faith.
